Position Summary

The Executive Pastor of Operations & Ministry serves as a senior leader responsible for the operational health, administrative effectiveness, staff coordination, and ministry execution of King’s Church.

Working closely with the Lead Pastors, the Executive Pastor oversees the systems, personnel, processes, and infrastructure necessary for a growing congregation. This includes administration,

Sunday services, church-wide events, staff supervision, communications, volunteer development, and ministry coordination.

This is a leadership and accountability role, not a position expected to personally execute every task. The Executive Pastor will delegate effectively, develop capable staff and lay leaders, establish clear procedures, and ensure ministry responsibilities are completed with excellence.

This position is both pastoral and executive. The ideal candidate will be spiritually mature, relationally strong, highly organized, capable of managing complexity, and personally invested in discipleship and congregational care.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Executive Leadership & Organizational Management

• Translate pastoral vision and ministry priorities into effective organizational execution.

• Oversee administrative infrastructure, operational procedures, and internal systems.

• Develop efficient workflows, clear responsibilities, communication structures, and accountability across teams.

• Serve as a primary point of coordination between the Lead Pastors and administrative and operational support staff.

• Anticipate organizational challenges, recommend improvements, and resolve problems proactively.

• Build systems that support continued church growth and potential expansion to multiple Sunday services.

• Maintain regular office hours and participate in staff meetings, planning, and church-wide initiatives.

2. Staff Leadership & Management

• Supervise designated administrative and operational staff, including the Scheduler, Administrative Support, Interns, Production Manager, and other assigned personnel.

• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, set performance goals, provide feedback, and support staff development.

• Establish clear job responsibilities, priorities, and performance expectations.

• Oversee appropriate delegation and completion of administrative and operational tasks.

• Foster a godly, competent, committed, supportive, and unified staff culture.

• Address performance concerns and organizational challenges with wisdom and care.

• Support staff onboarding, training, professional development, and leadership growth.

• Serve as a primary point of contact between pastoral leadership and support staff while respecting the authority of other ministry leaders.

3. Church Administration & Office Management

• Develop and maintain efficient procedures supporting the church’s day-to-day administration.

• Oversee office operations, facility maintenance coordination, bills, vendors, Instacart orders, and office supplies.

• Ensure weekly updates to church databases, including Planning Center, Constant Contact, and relevant Google Sheets.

• Oversee the organization and maintenance of the Church Directory.

• Manage the preparation, scheduling, and distribution of King’s Weekly content and related communications.

• Coordinate church-wide announcements and communications with other staff; assist with or delegate Canva graphic design as needed.

• Ensure recurring administrative tasks and projects are completed accurately and on schedule.

4. Sunday Operations & Service Leadership

• Maintain final operational accountability for Sunday planning, preparation, staffing, and execution.

• Oversee Sunday volunteer teams, including hospitality, security, tech, setup and teardown, and other designated teams, through staff and lay leaders.

• Ensure effective scheduling, volunteer communication, recruiting, onboarding, training, and team development.

• Coordinate with pastors, worship leadership, and production staff on service plans, liturgical elements, presentation slides, and service transitions.

• Oversee facilities, signage, equipment, supplies, room preparation, and safety procedures.

• Maintain updated team policies, procedures, and clearly assigned leadership responsibilities.

• Develop repeatable systems and leadership pipelines that can support additional Sunday services.

• Respond to Sunday operational challenges and continually improve procedures.

• Maintain a regular Sunday presence while delegating direct setup, teardown, and other execution responsibilities as appropriate.

Final accountability does not require personally completing every Sunday task or remaining onsite for the entirety of setup and teardown when qualified leaders have been assigned.

• Oversee logistical coordination for GO, REC, THINK, LEARN, Kingdom Kids, King’s Collective, Good Neighbor, Run Club, Small Groups, EQUIP, Men’s Ministry, and Women’s Ministry.

• Ensure major events have clear owners, plans, timelines, registration processes, communications, and adequate resources.

• Develop consistent event-planning procedures and scalable systems.

• Form and lead a supplemental events service team to assist with special gatherings such as the annual Christmas party, gala, and major church-wide events.
