About this position
Upscale Steak House is looking for a career minded professional for the host position. You should be have a professional appearance, be organized and articulate. Our hosts average just over 30 hours a week with no breakfast or lunch shifts and being part of the tip pool average $30/hr ($55-$65K per year) plus benefits. You must be available nights, weekends and holidays and be able to control the flow of the restaurant with grace under busy conditions and handle multiple flights of stairs. Full-time employees are eligible for health care coverage at 50% subsidization by the company. Furthermore, all Chicago Chop House employees are entitled to 50% off meals for up to four people when dining with us.
- A welcoming hostess/host who directs and instructs the dining room personnel on guest needs to ensure they receive fast and quality service from the moment they arrive. Must be able to handle incoming phone calls, seating, and calls with guests to confirm carry-out orders/reservations. Must posses skills with GuestCenter/OpenTable.
- Hostess/Host must warmly greet guests as they arrive, conduct vaccination/Identification screenings and escort them to their seats. Hosts also provide menu recommendations and venue explanations. Answer any immediate guest questions, introduce the guest to their server.
- The hostess/host must inspect, sanitize, and maintain the dining facilities. They may do so by instructing the buss personnel and waitstaff. They are also required to clean and sanitize high touch areas and help servers/bartender to facilitate guest needs.
- The hostess/host must be clean cut, elegant, warm, well mannered and well spoken (especially speaking through a face mask!). Reliability, hospitality and a passion for hospitality is a must.
- Experience with Open Table, Tock and Yelp a plus
