As a Pipe Shop Helper/Driver reporting to the Shop Manager, you will support pipe preparation, material handling, and shop operations while making local deliveries of steel pipe and fittings. You will operate pickup trucks, cargo vans, and flatbed trucks, help prepare and secure orders, and contribute to a safe, organized, and efficient pipe shop. This role offers potential advancement to Pipe Fabricator or Warehouse Lead.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and handle steel pipe and fittings for shop and delivery orders.
- Measure and cut pipe using appropriate equipment and tools.
- Operate shop equipment and assist with pipe fabrication activities.
- Load, secure, and transport materials safely for local deliveries.
- Drive pickup trucks, cargo vans, and flatbed trucks while following delivery routes.
- Inspect delivery vehicles and support order loading and inventory activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pipe shop and work area.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in pipe shop operations and delivery driving.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience with material handling, pipe fabrication, measuring tools, and hand tools.
- Knowledge of load securement, delivery routing, vehicle inspection, and workplace safety.
- Strong communication skills.
