You may be a great fit if you:
- Have previous management experience in hospitality, restaurants, retail, entertainment, service businesses, or multi-department operations
- Have experience leading, coaching, and developing employees
- Are comfortable making day-to-day decisions and taking ownership of execution
- Stay calm and organized in a fast-paced environment
- Notice when standards aren't being met and take action to get things back on track
- Can take a goal or directive, build an actionable plan, and follow it through to completion
- Are comfortable having difficult conversations when necessary
- Communicate clearly and professionally with employees and customers
- Balance high standards with a supportive leadership style
- Are organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
- Genuinely enjoy hospitality and creating great customer experiences
- Are comfortable working a schedule that includes nights, weekends, and some holidays
- Love dogs—or are excited to learn the pet-care side of the business
Experience managing multiple departments, revenue streams, or service areas is a plus.
You do not need previous pet-industry experience.
We're much more interested in your ability to lead a team, solve problems, execute consistently, and run a great operation.
We're not your typical workplace—and that's the point.
Taps & Tails is Cleveland's first and only dog park bar, bringing together hospitality, community, and a love of dogs in a way you won't find in a traditional restaurant, office, or pet-care facility.
We're also home to an award-winning, enrichment-based doggy daycare and boarding program, where we believe great pet care should be about more than simply supervising dogs. Our team works every day to give dogs safe, engaging experiences while giving their people a place and community they love being part of.
Over the years, we've built an incredible community of dog lovers who don't just visit Taps & Tails—they become part of it. From everyday regulars to meetups, watch parties, dog-friendly events, and celebrations, there's an energy and sense of community here that's hard to find in a traditional workplace.
We're also a business that keeps moving forward. We're continually introducing new events, experiences, and services, looking for better ways to serve our customers and their dogs, and finding new opportunities to grow. For our Operations Manager, that means there's always something new to bring to life—while making sure the day-to-day operation continues to run at a high level.
We're a values-driven, locally owned business with a passionate team and a clear mission:
To enhance the bond between people and their dogs.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to build a career somewhere genuinely different. Your days won't all look the same. You'll lead people, solve problems, interact with customers, help bring new experiences to life, and probably have a few dogs stop by your office along the way.
If you're looking for a leadership role where you can work hard, see the impact of what you do, and be part of a business and community you can genuinely feel proud of, we'd love to meet you.
Salary: $50,000–$55,000 annually, based on experience
Performance-based bonus opportunities
Benefits include:
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Paid holidays
- Employee discounts
- Complimentary or discounted Taps & Tails services
- Professional development and leadership growth opportunities
If you're an experienced leader who takes pride in developing people, maintaining high standards, solving problems, and turning plans into results, we'd love to hear from you.
Tell us about your leadership experience, what you're looking for in your next role, and why Taps & Tails sounds like a place you'd be excited to lead.
