Job Description
We are seeking a Consumer Loan Officer to evaluate and authorize consumer and real estate loans within delegated limits. Reporting to the Lending Manager, this role balances sound underwriting with relationship-building and sales by advising borrowers, processing applications, verifying documentation, and developing lending opportunities through branch walk-ins, existing customer referrals, and digital and inbound leads.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate consumer and real estate loan applications.
- Conduct credit analysis and assess borrower credit risk.
- Approve loans within delegated authority limits.
- Advise borrowers on financial status, loan options, and payment methods.
- Guide customers through the loan application process.
- Process applications and verify supporting documentation.
- Maintain regulatory compliance throughout the lending process.
- Develop referral networks and manage relationships with prospects and borrowers.
- Handle customer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in finance, banking, or a related field.
- Familiarity with financial and lending practices.
- Ability to build rapport with clients and manage customer relationships.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in consumer lending.
- Experience with credit analysis and credit risk assessment.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements.
- Strong mathematical analysis skills.
- Experience in customer relationship management.
