The Oberon Group / Purslane Catering is seeking reliable, professional, well-presented, and hospitality-minded Catering Drivers to join our growing operations team.

We are a Brooklyn-based catering and hospitality company providing exceptional food and service for weddings, corporate events, private gatherings, fashion and luxury brands, cultural institutions, government-sector clients, and high-profile events throughout New York City.

This position goes beyond making deliveries. Our drivers are an extension of our hospitality team and often represent the company directly to clients, venue managers, and event professionals.

We are looking for individuals who understand the importance of punctuality, professionalism, discretion, excellent presentation, and exceptional customer service.

• Safely transport catering food, beverages, equipment, and supplies to events throughout NYC and surrounding areas.

• Load and unload delivery vehicles carefully and efficiently.

• Verify orders against packing lists, delivery instructions, and event requirements before departure.

• Ensure food and equipment are properly secured during transportation.

• Maintain appropriate food temperatures and follow food-safety procedures during transport.

• Deliver and retrieve catering equipment, rentals, and supplies.

• Assist with setting up drop-off catering orders, buffets, beverage stations, and food displays when required.

• Present food and catering equipment neatly and professionally at client locations.

• Communicate courteously with clients, building staff, security personnel, and venue teams.

• Coordinate delivery schedules and routes with the operations and culinary teams.

• Communicate delays, traffic issues, missing items, or delivery concerns immediately.

• Assist with event breakdowns, pickups, and equipment returns.

• Keep delivery vehicles clean, organized, and properly maintained.

• Report vehicle maintenance or safety concerns promptly.

• Assist with warehouse organization, packing, inventory, and other operational duties between deliveries.

Hospitality experience is required.

• Previous hospitality experience required, preferably in catering, restaurants, hotels, event operations, or luxury hospitality.

• Valid driver's license.

• Clean and responsible driving history.

• Experience driving cargo vans or commercial delivery vehicles preferred.

• Strong knowledge of NYC streets, traffic patterns, and delivery logistics.

• Comfortable navigating Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and surrounding areas.

• Ability to follow detailed delivery and pickup instructions.

• Comfortable using GPS, smartphones, and delivery communication systems.

• Ability to safely lift and move catering equipment, food containers, and supplies.

• Reliable, punctual, and highly organized.

• Ability to work independently and solve problems.

• Experience with catering setup and event logistics is a strong plus.

Position: Part-Time
Compensation: $20–$26 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Scheduling is flexible and based on event and delivery needs. Candidates must be available for a combination of:

• Early mornings

• Daytime deliveries

• Evenings

• Weekends

• Occasional holidays

• Event pickups and late-night returns

Hours may vary depending on the weekly catering schedule.

Professional discretion is mandatory.

Drivers may encounter confidential information including client identities, private residences, guest lists, event locations, schedules, security procedures, and other sensitive event details.

Employees may be required to sign and comply with a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

Photographing, posting, discussing, or sharing confidential client or event information without authorization is strictly prohibited.
