Role Description The Barista is a full-time, on-site role based in Paramus or Seacaus, NJ. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and serving hot and cold drinks, operating espresso machines and related equipment, and ensuring all beverage stations are clean, organized, and fully stocked. The Barista interacts directly with guests, taking orders, answering questions, and providing friendly, efficient service throughout events. The role also involves basic food preparation related to the beverage service, following safety and hygiene standards, and collaborating with other event staff to support smooth service and a positive guest experience.
Qualifications
- Strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills, to engage guests respectfully and professionally.
- Barista experience and familiarity with coffee and espresso preparation, beverage recipes, and safe operation of café equipment.
- Effective Communication skills to take orders clearly, coordinate with team members, and respond to guest requests in a timely manner.
- Food Preparation skills relevant to beverages and light fare, with attention to food safety, cleanliness, and presentation.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry supplies as needed, and work in a fast-paced event environment.
- Reliability in attendance and punctuality, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
- Prior experience in catering, hospitality, or food service is preferred but not required; training may be provided.
