About this position
JUNO Sushi, an acclaimed sushi restaurant in Lincoln Park, is seeking an full-time sushi chef to join our team. Develop your skills and work alongside restaurant professionals in an elevated fine-dining environment. We are located at 2638 N. Lincoln Avenue in the heart of Lincoln Park, less than half a mile from the Fullerton Red Line stop.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Minimum one year of experience as a sushi chef required. Related skills include: knife handling, knowledge of sushi fish, butchery, mise en place, mise en scene, Japanese-style food preparation
- Fundamental knowledge of various sushi and preparation methods according to recipes and efficiently executing intricate, aesthetically pleasing dishes, follow restaurant standards and procedures
- Achieve and maintain proficiency in job functions and duties, follow instructions on prepare food items and ingredients needed for menu items (sushi, maki, nigiri and sashimi, etc.) according to prescribed recipes and/or special requests.
- Ensure proper food storage, quality, and presentation standards, including temperature control, hygiene, etc.
- Understand and follow the food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions
- Effective communication and ability to follow instruction and work in coordination with others.
- A good team player and understand guest’s service and changing needs
- Can stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to 8 to 10 hours
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing ~50lbs, handle hot food items, etc.

Afternoon/evening availability (1 pm and on) from Wednesday to Monday, (Closed on Tuesdays). Friday & Saturday availability is required.
