Build a Career in Low-Voltage Systems
--------------------------------------------
FNS Communications LLC is hiring a Low-Voltage Helper to join our FieldOps Academy.
This is an entry-level field position designed for someone who wants to build a long-term career in the low-voltage industry. Previous fire alarm, security, access control, or low-voltage experience is not required.
This position is 100% travel-based. FNS currently performs a significant amount of project work outside the Houston area, and employees should expect to travel wherever active projects require them.
We are more interested in finding someone who:
- Shows up ready to work.
- Takes pride in doing things correctly.
- Is comfortable working with tools and learning construction skills.
- Stays productive without needing constant supervision.
- Takes initiative when assigned work is complete.
- Can follow instructions and retain what they are taught.
- Wants to learn a skilled trade and advance.
We can teach low-voltage systems.
We need you to bring work ethic, reliability, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
Travel Requirements
This position requires 100% travel.
FNS has active and upcoming projects throughout Texas, including many projects located outside the Houston area. Employees should expect travel to be a normal and continuous part of the position rather than an occasional requirement.
Travel may include:
- Daily travel to customer and project locations.
- Multi-day assignments away from the Houston area.
- Overnight stays during project assignments.
- Travel throughout Texas based on active project schedules.
- Remaining on an out-of-town project for multiple consecutive workdays.
- Returning home based on project schedules and management direction.
For qualifying overnight assignments, FNS provides:
- Company-paid lodging
- Travel per diem
- Applicable travel-time compensation in accordance with Company policy and applicable law
Applicants should only apply if they are genuinely comfortable with a travel-intensive construction position.
This is not a position where travel is occasional or optional.
Transportation & Driving Requirements
Because travel is an essential function of this position, applicants must:
- Hold a valid driver's license.
- Maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Meet FNS automobile-insurance requirements when driving is assigned.
- Be willing to complete a motor-vehicle-record review.
- Notify FNS of relevant changes affecting driving eligibility.
New employees may be required to maintain reliable transportation during the initial qualification period.
Company vehicle and fuel-card assignment may be considered after satisfactory introductory performance, driving-record review, insurability, business need, and management approval.
A company vehicle is not automatically guaranteed based solely on time employed.
