(Kenner, LA): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Structural Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience fitting and assembling structural steel components using blueprints, drawings, and measuring tools. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and the ability to work in a fast-paced industrial or fabrication environment.
Essential Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders.
- Lay out, fit, align, and assemble structural steel components.
- Measure, mark, and position materials using hand and power tools.
- Tack weld components as needed before final welding.
- Operate grinders, torches, and other fabrication equipment safely.
- Inspect fitted assemblies to ensure proper dimensions and alignment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Requirements/Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of structural fitting experience in a fabrication shop, shipyard, or industrial setting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Proficient with measuring tools, layout techniques, and fitting procedures.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and oxy-fuel cutting equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces as required.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and industrial environments.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the workday.
